My Resolutions Goals for 2016

16 Jan 2016

So I'm a tad late to the New Year's resolution party but I wanted to share with you my resolution goal.

With every New Year comes New Year's resolutions and I am one of those people who make them every year knowing full well they will be broken by February. So why do I make them I hear you scream! Because I find the new year a great opportunity to start afresh. I like starting the new year, reflecting on the past year, thinking about what I've accomplished, where I've been but more importantly, I like to start looking forward to the upcoming year and think about goals, things I'd like to do and things I'd like to achieve.

I realised that I've been way too tough on myself with my past resolutions. (Which includes: Put x amount away as savings each month, drink x amount of water every day, loose x amount of Christmas weight by this date.) They've been too specific and ultimately, I'm setting myself up for failure thus making me feel rubbish about me. (Boo!) So it's time to be kinder to myself by thinking of resolutions a goal that I can work towards, rather than something I have to complete or alternatively (but hopefully won't) struggle with and give up on.

It's actually just a motto..
See more, Do more.

Because I want to do exactly that! I want to see more of the world, especially a part of the world I know nothing about. I want to see more art, theatre shows, gigs. I want to be out and about more in a city that is right on my doorstep that I knowingly sometimes take for granted. I want to continue to explore the extensive list of restaurants in my notes. I want to take more photos, watch more documentaries, watch more of films. I want to read more. I want to write more. etc etc etc....

I know my goal is vague and there is no definitive finish line but that's what I like most about it. I feel happy about this and that's the most important thing.

What are your new year resolutions? How are they going?
