ootd: Jeans & Knit

10 Feb 2016

I know these snaps are a little bit of a throwback but I wanted to share my favourite piece of knitwear that I'm still wearing through Spring. I say Spring, but it's still so cold here in the UK!

This grey turtleneck jumper has been my absolute staple knitwear piece last Autumn/ Winter. It's light and cosy with a zip detail on the back and (the best part) a turtleneck. This was actually one of the items from my Topshop Personal Shopping Appointment. It may not be in stock anymore but Topshop have such a lovely range of grey knits at the moment, I'm loving them all! I feel like I'm getting such a good cost-per-wear with this bad boy too as I'm still wearing it in February. The thing with UK weather is that it's pretty cold all the way until March so knitwear, layers, jeans and tights are pretty much my wardrobe until then.
I complete this casual outfit with my Adidas Superstars. (Top tip: if you're a size UK6 or below, go for the kids ones!) They're sadly not this white anymore, which reminds me, maybe I should give em a clean oops.

This has been an outfit I've been able to quickly throw on for work, keep warm and feel comfortable in, plus it -possibly- look like I've made some sort of effort ha! I never thought I'd be wearing trainers on such a regular basis but these Adidas Superstars are so chic they can be paired with anything. Yep sometimes I even break the rules and wear them with black tights! And they're super comfortable which makes my commute a dream. I remember trainers becoming "uncool" back in my days at school but now I can't get enough of them.

What has been your staple knitwear piece lately?
